Does just the thought of self-care overwhelm you?

Why do we as humans always feel the need to complicate things?

On my journey searching for mental wellness, I became aware of the piece of me that wants to add layers of complexity to everything, including my self-care.

I used to look at self-care as fresh habit to be formed; another block to be scheduled; more complicated activities to plan for. But in recent years, I’ve learned - and had to train myself - to simplify.

When I began to simplify - to reach back to the most basic, purest form in everything - I found freedom from the fear of failure. I saw that it was ok to go with the flow of life instead of planning every moment. I found how much beauty can be lost when we over-complicate things, and how much good I had been overlooking in my day-to-day.

Through simplifying, I realized that self-care practices don’t have to be complicated. They just have to be intentional.

Now, simple self-care is part my daily life without stress or overwhelm. My self-care practices have become intentional, unhindered, and uncomplicated. And I wholeheartedly believe you deserve to experience the same.
